2020 was a challenging year due to the Covid-19 pandemic significantly impacting organizations across the globe. SPBD Microfinance Network took all the necessary steps to support its clients through these challenging times while ensuring the safety of its employees managing the business operations. In 2020, SPBD disbursed more than 31,500 loans worth USD $28.6 million through its five microfinance institutions in Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. The loan portfolio outstanding stood at USD $19.4 million with 28,800 loans as of end of 2020, while maintaining its track record of excellent portfolio quality.
