Clay is a consultant in the financial inclusion and development finance space with a rich and diverse experience spanning more  than 30 years. In the early years of his career, he served as managing director (investment banking) at ING Barings Australia, Vice President (investments) at Opportunity International, Director Asia Pacific with Ayani Inclusive financial sector  consultants, Program Officer (microfinance) with UNOPS and as senior sector specialist (financial inclusion) with AusAID/DFAT.  He also served as Interim CEO/Senior Advisor for a Myanmar-based microfinance institution in 2019. Clay is now consulting as  a Senior Financial Inclusion Specialist with AYANI. Clay has a bachelors degree in law from the University of Sydney and a  masters degree in economics from Macquarie University, Australia.
